After shooting so many weddings, I can say that today, weddings are all about how 'beautiful' it will look... they are all focused on how many details can be filtered throughout the day...or how many elements can be woven into the day. And as a photographer, I have to admit, I do love those things very much, but at the end of the day, what is remembered is really all about the feelings and the emotions.

So, when I walked into Saturday's wedding, and what met my camera was a multitude of tears, big hugs, even bigger smiles - it was so refreshing and real. The emotion and the closeness between the between the bride + groom and their family and friends was great to be a part of.

So thank you for letting us be a part for your day. I hope the images spark the same feeling you had when we took them.

Weddings posts are so overdue on our blog! and not because we haven't been shooting them. But wow, we've been shooting so many, and so many great ones its been hard keeping up with them on our website. So what to do when you have so many fabulous couples to post? Start from the beginning.

Great job!!!, I just want to make a shout-out to Harry, Jon, and Kacey - thank you so much for being the kick in the pants awesome shooters that you are! I can always count on you, plus you make working a blast.

And last but definitely not least, thank you Kevin and Parmis for trusting us with your memories. For being such beautiful people inside and out, and for making it not feel like work at all for me on your special day. You two only deserve the very best that life has to offer, and I hope you get nothing less.

Meet Parmis + Kevin.

Thank you for your beautiful faces that gorgeous afternoon, across a random patch of Folsom in the hood you hangout in :) Too be wed on June 11, 2011.

For now, I wanted to share this session with all of you. It made me happy while looking at all the smiles dotted throughout all these images. This is what happens when you combine great people, sweet love, a fast car, blue skies, and the most gorgeous light :)

Ena and Rajat, keep shining your beautiful, funny, and generous hearts to those around you :) I know, that while you are both moving mountains, fighting dragons in life together, you will be doing it with Alison laughing in the joyous way she knows how, and Rajat holding her hand the same way citadels hold and protect, both having unabashed amounts of fun all at the same time. I know because you two are best friends become lovers, who know how to laugh with one another and remember to never take things too seriously. Congratulations!! xx

The weather was so amazing with a beautiful sky the entire day of the their wedding, it really added to what was being truly celebrated that afternoon - how much they loved one another, and how incredibly overjoyed they were to be able to look forward to the rest of their lives together.

Enjoy my faves from the day! It really was an amazingly sweet, emotion-filled wedding that really left some footprints on my heart. Adding to the fabulousness that day, was the pleasure of working alongside the uber-talented mother of the groom Katie Edwards owner of and owner of Ambience Floral Design and Granite Bay Country Club weddings-events team. I could write a million words about this one, and I want to, but in between all the crazy that has filled the start of 2011, I thought it would be better to let the pictures do the talking.

Miosa Couture Photo Shoot

I had such a blast doing the Miosa Couture catalog shoot. The models were great to work with and the gowns are out off the chart. Here are a few things to know about Miosa.

Miosa(r); the name itself is a combination of the names of Michael and Sanea Sommerfield. Not only is the name a blend of this dynamic husband and wife team, but the collection itself reflects the mixture of yin and yang these two represent. Michael Sommerfield has been sewing and making clothing since the age of 11, and has always been intensely interested in garment construction. He started a very successful chain of tailoring stores before deciding to go back to school for fashion design.

Sanea brings a feminine touch to the label. Being a very sensitive person helps her understand and anticipate the clients' needs and desires. Sanea came from a business management background, and she adds that structure and expertise to the business as well.

Kristin and Joey

Kristin and Joey wed at the recently refurbished and beautiful sanctuary, St. John's Lutheran Church, with whom they share the philosophy that love has no limits, no boundaries. A recipe for a fairytale wedding, the vibrant flower bouquets, lavish bridal party and amazing House of Fashion corset gown wowed Kristin and Joey's family and friends. The perfect sunny weather topped off an already perfect day while we captured pictures of the bridal party and family with the happy couple. Extreme Entertainment got the party music started as the guests danced the night away at the Vizcaya Pavilion and Mansion and devoured every bit of the cake from Sheldon Wedding Cakes. Congratulations and best wishes Kristin and Joey!

Cortney & Scott

Wine, friendship and love get better with age which is why Cortney and Scott chose the intimate and romantic Villagio Inn and Spa in Napa, California. Cortney, dressed in a show stopping Miosa gown, and groom, Scott, looking handsome as ever in a Macy's tuxedo, were picture perfect as they wed under the perfect sunshiny day amongst their family, friends and delicious wine grapes. Cortney and Scott were one of the first to wed in the new Pavilion at the Vintage Estate, the Villagio's new, grand outdoor garden area. The wedding was lush, vibrant, fresh and fun - a display of the wonderful personalities of both bride and groom. Guests enjoyed another famously delectable cake by Sheldon Wedding Cakes and kicked off their shoes to dance to the John Skinner Band. Congratulations to Cortney and Scott - a fabulously genuine and dear couple.
